About this experience
Khiva is known for its wood carving: the Juma Mosque alone has over two hundred carved columns, and carved doors decorate houses all over Ichan-Kala. The craft is still taught and practised in the old town today.
In this workshop you'll see how the patterns are drawn and cut, learn the meaning of common motifs, and try carving a simple design on a small piece of wood.
