Starting in Khiva, the road heads south-east along the Amu Darya before turning into the Kyzylkum desert. The full drive is roughly 450–480 km and usually takes 6 to 7 hours with a lunch stop.
If your hotel is inside Ichan-Kala, the driver meets you at the nearest gate at the agreed time — tell us which gate is closest when you book, or just give us the hotel name and we'll arrange it.
You arrive in Bukhara in the afternoon if you leave in the morning, in time for a first walk around Lyab-i Hauz. The next leg — Bukhara to Samarkand — is also a fixed-price transfer.
