Hidden Uzbekistan: questions

How do I get to these places?
Every place on this page shows the private transfers we run to it, with a fixed price per vehicle where we have one. The desert fortresses are day trips from Khiva, the Aral Sea is planned from Nukus, and the Fergana Valley towns are reached over the Kamchik pass from Tashkent.
Is there public transport to the fortresses or the Aral Sea?
There is no public transport to the Khorezm fortresses. A private car with a driver is the simple way to go. Aral Sea trips are quoted per itinerary because the final stretch to the shoreline needs a 4x4.
Can I add one of these places to a Samarkand–Bukhara–Khiva trip?
Yes. Add it to your trip and open the route optimizer: day-trip places are attached to their base city (the fortresses to Khiva, the Aral Sea to Nukus, Shakhrisabz to Samarkand) and every leg is priced from our price list.
Why are some prices shown as "on request"?
We only show a price when it is on our fixed price list. Journeys without a fixed price — like Aral Sea itineraries — are quoted for your dates and group before you commit.
