Stops along the way
Make the drive part of the trip
Long drives are part of the trip here. Tick the places you want to see on the way and your driver plans the day around them. Short roadside stops are included in the transfer price; longer visits are added to your quote before you confirm.

Book this transferThe Tashkent to Samarkand journey
The drive is about 300 km on the M39 highway and usually takes 4 to 4.5 hours, depending on traffic leaving Tashkent and where you are staying in Samarkand. The road runs south-west through Syrdarya and Jizzakh regions — flat farmland first, then the foothills of the Nuratau range as you approach Samarkand.
Most travellers take this route on their first or second day in the country, often straight from a morning arrival at Tashkent airport. A private transfer means you don't have to get to the station, fit luggage onto a train or find a taxi in Samarkand on arrival — the car collects you where you are and drops you at your hotel door.
There is a roadside café stop about halfway in the Jizzakh area, and your driver will stop for photos, a rest or food whenever you ask.

Tashkent to Samarkand by train or private transfer?
An honest comparison. Both are good options — it depends on your plans. Train vs private transfer, leg by leg.
By train
The Afrosiyob high-speed train is the fastest option — around 2 to 2.5 hours station to station — but tickets can sell out weeks ahead, especially in spring and autumn. Add the time to get to Tashkent station, arrive early for security, and find a taxi at Samarkand station.
By private car Door to door
A private car takes longer on the road but goes door to door, leaves when you want, carries all your luggage and costs the same for 1 or 3 people in a sedan. It is the easier choice straight off a flight, with heavy bags, with children, or when trains are sold out.
What the car costs per person
The price is per vehicle, so it gets cheaper per person as your group grows. Compare with train tickets for the same number of people — and remember the taxis to and from the stations.
