Book this transferThe Tashkent to Bukhara journey
The drive is about 570 km and usually takes 7 to 8 hours. It follows the same highway as Tashkent to Samarkand for the first part of the day, then continues west past Samarkand and Navoiy to Bukhara.
It suits travellers who are skipping Samarkand this time, coming back to it later, or arriving at Tashkent airport and heading straight for Bukhara. With a long day on the road, most people leave Tashkent in the morning and arrive in Bukhara by late afternoon.
Your driver stops for food, rest and photos whenever you ask. If you would like to spend a night in Samarkand instead, book the journey as two legs: Tashkent to Samarkand and Samarkand to Bukhara.

Tashkent to Bukhara by train or private transfer?
An honest comparison. Both are good options — it depends on your plans. Train vs private transfer, leg by leg.
By train
The Afrosiyob high-speed train runs from Tashkent to Bukhara in roughly 4 hours station to station, much faster than the road. Tickets on popular dates sell out early, and you still need rides to and from the stations.
By private car Door to door
The car takes most of the day but goes door to door, leaves when you want and carries all your luggage for one price per vehicle. It makes sense for families and groups, when trains are sold out, or straight off a flight.
What the car costs per person
The price is per vehicle, so it gets cheaper per person as your group grows. Compare with train tickets for the same number of people — and remember the taxis to and from the stations.
