Day trips by region

Each one starts and ends at your hotel. Prices are per group, not per person.

Kashkadarya · from Samarkand

Shakhrisabz, the home town of Amir Temur

Over the mountains to the town where Amir Temur was born — the giant gateway of his Ak-Saray palace, the Dorut Tilavat and Dorus Saodat complexes, and the old bazaar.

8–9 hoursCar from $110

Karakalpakstan · from Khiva

Ayaz Kala desert fortress

Into the Kyzylkum desert to the mud-brick fortresses of ancient Khorezm, on a hill above a dry lake — the most dramatic of the 'fifty fortresses'.

5–6 hoursCar from $60

Bukhara · from Bukhara

Bukhara's countryside palaces and Gijduvan pottery

The places around Bukhara most visitors miss: the Emir's summer palace, the shrine of Bahouddin Naqshband, the Chor-Bakr necropolis, and a master potter's workshop in Gijduvan.

6–7 hoursQuoted for your group

Tashkent region · from Tashkent

Chimgan mountains and Charvak lake

Tashkent's mountains, about two hours from the city: a chairlift up Chimgan, the turquoise Charvak reservoir and lunch by a mountain river.

8–9 hoursQuoted for your group

Fergana Valley · from Fergana

Margilan silk and Rishtan ceramics

The Fergana Valley's two great crafts in one day: hand-woven ikat silk in Margilan and the blue-glazed pottery of Rishtan, with lunch at a family table.

6–7 hoursQuoted for your group

Karakalpakstan · from Nukus

Moynaq and the ships of the Aral Sea

The former fishing port of Moynaq, where rusting ships lie in the sand far from today's shoreline — and the story of the Aral Sea in the town's museum.

9–10 hoursQuoted for your group

Surkhandarya · from Termez

Ancient Termez: Buddhist monasteries and the Amu Darya

Uzbekistan's far south, where Buddhism once met the Silk Road: the monasteries of Fayaz Tepe and Kara Tepe, the Kyrk Kyz fortress and the shrine of Al-Hakim at-Termizi.

Day trips: questions

How does the price work?
The price is for your group, not per person: one private car with a driver for the day, plus the guide, lunch and tickets if you choose a package that includes them. Where a trip shows "Quoted for your group", we reply with a fixed price for your date and group size before you confirm.
Can we change the plan on the day?
Yes. It is your private car, so you set the pace — stay longer somewhere, skip a stop or add a photo break. If you want to add a place far off the plan, tell your driver or us and we will tell you if it changes the price before you go.
What time do day trips start?
Usually between 8 and 9 am so you see the sights before the midday heat, but you choose the pickup time when you book.
Do I pay when I send the request?
Sending the request is free. We confirm the car, the guide and the price with you first, then the trip is booked once you pay the advance to our Visa card (via Paysend, Revolut or a similar app).
Can a day trip be combined with a transfer?
Often, yes — for example Shakhrisabz on the way from Samarkand to Bukhara, or a desert fortress on the way from Khiva to Nukus. Mention the stop in the message when you book, or ask us.

Somewhere else in mind?

Tell us where you are staying and what you would like to see. We plan the day and quote it for your group.
