Uzbekistan visa and entry rules
Most visitors from Europe, North America and much of Asia can now visit Uzbekistan without a visa. Here is what to check before you fly.
Visa-free entry
Citizens of a long list of countries can enter Uzbekistan without a visa and stay up to 30 days — including all EU countries, the United Kingdom and, since 1 January 2026, the United States. Citizens of several neighbouring and former Soviet countries can stay longer.
The e-visa
If your passport is not on the visa-free list, you can usually apply online for an electronic visa on the official portal, e-visa.gov.uz. Apply only through the official site — other sites that look similar charge extra fees.
Registering your stay
Foreign visitors must be registered at the address where they stay. Hotels and licensed guesthouses do this for you when you check in — keep the registration slips or confirmations they give you until you leave the country. If you stay with friends or in a private flat, ask your host how registration is done.
Arriving
Most international flights land in Tashkent; Samarkand, Bukhara and Urgench also have international airports. Our drivers meet arrivals at all four — see airport transfers, or read arriving at Tashkent airport.
