The Tashkent to Kokand journey

The road from Tashkent to Kokand is about 230 km and takes around 3.5 to 4 hours. It crosses the Kamchik mountain pass, the only road link between Tashkent and the Fergana Valley.

Kokand was the capital of the Kokand Khanate, and the Palace of Khudayar Khan is its best-known sight. It is the first valley town after the pass, so many travellers stop here before going on to Fergana, Margilan or Rishtan.
