About this experience
The Aral Sea was once one of the largest lakes in the world. Today its former port, Muynak, sits far from the water, with rusting fishing boats stranded on the desert — one of the most striking and sobering sights in Central Asia.
With a guide from the region you'll visit the ship graveyard and the Aral Sea museum, and hear how the sea retreated from people who have lived through it. The day is paced for the long drive from Nukus.
