Getting to and around Khiva
Khiva itself has no airport, so almost every visitor arrives via Urgench, about 30–35 minutes away. We meet flights at Urgench International Airport (UGC) and take you straight to Ichan-Kala, Khiva's walled old city, which is small enough to explore mostly on foot once you arrive.
Khiva is also the natural starting point for a private day trip into the Khorezm desert fortresses or onward to Bukhara (a long desert drive of roughly 6–7 hours), so it's worth planning your Khiva stop together with your wider route rather than booking it separately.
