The town of Chust, near Namangan, is famous across Uzbekistan for its pichok knives, with their curved blades and decorated handles. Every Uzbek kitchen has one, and the craft is passed down in families of smiths.

Visit a knife-making workshop, watch the forging, grinding and handle-making, and learn the symbols stamped on the blades.
