Andijan
The eastern end of the Fergana Valley, known for its bazaars and everyday Uzbek life far from the tourist trail.
What is Andijan?
Andijan is the birthplace of Babur, founder of the Mughal Empire, and sits at the eastern edge of the Fergana Valley near the border with Kyrgyzstan. Most travellers arrive by domestic flight to Andijan Airport or by road from Fergana, about an hour away.
We arrange both airport pickups in Andijan and onward private transfers across the valley to Fergana, Namangan or Kokand, so you're not relying on shared taxis for the shorter valley-to-valley hops.
Why visit
- Babur birthplace sites — Memorials to the founder of the Mughal Empire.
- Andijan bazaar — A lively regional market.
- Jome Mosque — A restored historic mosque in the city centre.
