Namangan
A green city in the northern Fergana Valley, close to the knife-making town of Chust.
What is Namangan?
Namangan is the largest city in the Fergana Valley and a regional industrial and agricultural centre rather than a typical tourist stop, which makes a private driver useful for business travel as well as onward sightseeing in the valley.
From Namangan, Fergana and Kokand are both under an hour and a half away by road, and we can combine an airport or hotel pickup with a same-day onward transfer if your schedule is tight.
Why visit
- Namangan bazaar — One of the valley's largest markets.
- Mullah Kirgiz Madrasa — A 19th-century Islamic school.
- Akhsikent ruins — The remains of an ancient valley capital nearby.
