About this experience
Uzbek classical and folk music is built around instruments you won't hear anywhere else: the long-necked dutar and tanbur, the doira frame drum and the bowed gijjak. In this small-group evening, local musicians play and explain the music they grew up with.
Between pieces there's time to ask questions, see the instruments up close and, if you like, try a few notes yourself. It's a relaxed way to spend an evening in Samarkand after a day of sightseeing.
